The Presbytery of Denver seeks an Interim Presbytery Pastor (IPP) to serve as spiritual leader, encourager, and supervisor for the church in the greater metro Denver area (including urban, suburban, mountain and rural congregations). The IPP position is initially for a period of one year with an option to renew for a mutually agreed duration of time.
Casual in style and caring by design, gatherings and efforts of the Presbytery of Denver are the result of true collaboration. We carry out ministry and fund mission work in partnership. We share stories and resources. We tackle issues. We celebrate God’s glorious diversity. We describe our leader as pastor, not executive (though there are executive responsibilities), which guides not only that leader, but the desired nature of our engagement with one another.
The Interim Presbytery Pastor will help our congregations embrace the hope of God’s calling. S/he will help maintain a sense of stability through carrying out the regular works of the Presbytery’s life and ministry and always call us back to one another. During this interim time, the sale of the current Presbytery offices and move to a rented location will occur, as will evaluation of the staffing model, in collaboration with excellent staff, councils and committees.
