Please pray for Patti Kitchen and her family at the recent death of Patti’s mother, Nancy Morrison. A Service of Witness to the Resurrection for Mrs. Morrison was held on Saturday, January 24, at Wellshire Church. Last week the father of Walt Bedford died in Michigan. Please pray for Walt, who is a Commission-ready CRE and who has traveled to Michigan to be with his family. Margaret Bell continues to in her treatment for cancer. Please remember Margaret in your prayers. Continued prayers for the family of Irvin McArthur are invited. On Friday, February 6, at 2:30 p.m. a Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held for Irvin at Covenant Village in Westminster.

Both put a courageous spotlight on the life of Mexican Americans in the United States. It all takes place on Saturday, February 7, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Wellshire Presbyterian Church. Being Leaders: Living into Your Call is a special event for teaching elders, ruling elders and deacons, sponsored by the Council’s Leadership Work Group. It will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Brighton, on February 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Rev. James Gale, Coordinator of Theocademy, a discipleship and leadership training series for Presbyterians, will be the leader and there will be opportunity for exploration and dialogue about the challenge, opportunity and possibilities of being a leader in our congregations. The National Association of Presbyterian Clergywomen will gather for its Triennium April 16-19 at Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center of Little Rock, Ark. The theme for the event is "God Moves - Be Still." Stephany Graham, a pastor at Peekskill Presbyterian Church in Peekskill, N.Y., will be the keynote speaker and Adele Crawford, pastor at Valley Presbyterian Church in Brookfield, Conn., will lead worship.
