Journey with Migrants Prayer Vigil

  • GEO Immigrantation Dentention Center 3130 North Oakland Street Aurora, CO, 80010 United States (map)

On Monday, September 9 at 6-7 PM the Journey with Migrants Mission Partnership, in collaboration with the American Friends Service Committee and the Interfaith Immigration Network, will facilitate an ecumenical vigil at the GEO Immigrant Detention Center (3130 Oakland St., Aurora).  We invite all members of the Presbytery of Denver and members of our faith communities to join this witness for humane immigration policies and practices.

As people of faith, we’ll pray for neighbors and newcomers who are detained inside the walls of the detention center and pray for their families and friends seeking release of the people they love.  We will pray, too, for GEO staff that they might protect the health and wellbeing of detainees held in the facility. We will hear of experiences behind the walls and speak of unbuilding walls.
