Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church (WRPC) is seeking a talented, positive, compassionate person with a sense of humor to serve as a ¾ time Temporary Supply Pastor (with salary and benefits) with a commitment to the ministry of the church. We are seeking an organized leader who can gently teach and vigorously inspire the dedicated, hardworking members of the congregation to become leaders themselves.
Big changes are ahead of us, with a building that is expensive to maintain and not accessible for all of our members. There is disagreement about how to best steward our resources and how to use what we have for mission purposes, living into our hope and enthusiasm as a Matthew 25 Church. We hope for a new pastor who can help us communicate with one another and be Christ-like in every interaction we have as we navigate these tough choices.
The Temporary Supply Pastor will be a person who communicates easily, replies quickly, listens patiently, and follows through reliably. The Session, together with the hired Pastor, will work to determine the ¾ balance of providing the usual pastoral duties of preaching the word at worship services, administering the sacraments, overseeing church administration, giving guidance and advice on church issues, serving as moderator of both scheduled and called Session meetings and the annual meeting, and responding to emergency pastoral care as needed.
Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church is located in Wheat Ridge at 9180 W 38th Ave between Wadsworth and Kipling.
The terms of employment will be on a one year renewable contract with the following:
Effective salary - $50,000
Benefits will be provided and negotiated
Six (6) Sundays off, 4 weeks vacation including Sundays
Continuing Education time of 1.5 week/yr
Continuing education reimbursement - $750
