United in Orange Food Drive

Presbyterian Friends:
I have a FUN invitation for you:
Our Colleagues in Charlotte (which has more Presbyterians per capita than any other denomination) have challenged Denver to a little more Superbowl competition – a food drive!

It’s all happening at unitedinorange.org (and on social media).

It started with First Presbyterian Charlotte e-mailing Wellshire, but it’s gotten A LOT bigger! We’re joining with other denominations – Denver vs. Charlotte – to see who can raise the most food items (and monetary donations) leading up to the big game. Will you PLAY TOO??? Join the #UnitedInOrange #FoodDrive. We are inviting all of #BroncosCountry to help us beat Charlotte on and off the field.

Each drop-off site chooses the food pantry of their choice. Deadline to drop off is February 7, 2016.

Central and Peoples Presbyterian Choirs

What started as a pulpit exchange is now moving beyond that.  “Soulful Sundays” began on January 10 with a sermon on baptism identity and how it can serve as a guide towards racial reconciliation Sermon  The following Sunday, Central shut their doors and shared in a service at People’s.  The Sunday after that, the congregation met at Central.  On both Sundays the choirs combined to produce stuff like Jesus is a Rock in a Weary Land and I love the Lord, He Heard Me Cry.

But here’s where it gets really good.  Since the pulpit exchange more exchanges have been taking place.  Last Thursday for example, women from People’s joined women at Central during their monthly women’s group, making what was initially just a pulpit exchange something more permanent.
